Sitting here on a rather dull and almost over Thursday... Browsing through my Itunes, Youtube, and other things (pandora, slacker, etc) ... Every song you hear is a teleportation device for a moment in your life...I can assure you that there are songs that take you back to that first love, those moments where you thought you were dying inside only to be reborn...
Music is such an amazing experience...As a poet I can hear the lyrics...as an artist, I can pick out each instrument; each harmony... I feel the music move through me and thus I am moved.
My first memories are from the 80's, Big Hair and Epic ballads...then the 90's came and there were poetic songs and *gasp* white rappers...but my favorite pieces are from centuries ago (Opera, classical) or those love songs that touch every heart no matter how old...Mr Mister Broken Wings...forever will touch my heart....
I am open to change, I am open to new things..and I know "they" are not new, but The Mountain Goats are taking up ALOT of my time now...so is Lily Allen...I love ALL music...It is all an expression..even if the person singing it did not write it...they are moved by the idea...
